On 11/14/2024, the Salas family’s world was shattered when they were struck by a driver under the influence. Rob and Nikki Salas, along with their teenage daughter were traveling to celebrate Rob’s 40th birthday. His wife and daughter have minor injuries. He sustained many injuries: a collapsed lung, lacerations on his kidney and liver, a fractured collar bone, 15 broken ribs and a fractured pelvis in 6 places. He underwent surgery yesterday (11/15/2024) on his pelvis. He may need additional surgery for his fractured collarbone.
As you can imagine, he has a very long road to recovery. It will be 6-8 weeks before he can walk and much longer before he can return to work. He purchased a cleaning company in May of this year so going without work will be very difficult as a new small business owner. As soon as he was alert and talking, his first concern was the safety of everyone involved. Once he was reassured that his wife and daughter were not severely injured, his immediate concern became the future of the small business he’s been working so hard to grow. He had been able to help many families with cleaning and remediation in their homes.
Funds will be used towards some medical bills as well as helping them get through the next few months with Rob being out of work.
