I am reaching out to our amazing Fairfield community for my dear friends, the Sabados family. I have been blessed to know Alene, Rudy, and their children for almost 15 years. Alene and Rudy were both born and raised in Fairfield. They met in high school, and the rest is history! Alene, as many of you know, is the lady in the famous pink Alene’s Ice Cream Truck, and her husband Rudy, also a local small business owner, have lived in Fairfield their entire lives. They chose Fairfield to call home and raise their three amazing children. If you are lucky enough, you may have a child who went to school with one of the Sabados children or played on a sports team with them. If your paths have crossed with Alene and Rudy, you know their dedication to the Fairfield community. Alene is always the first to volunteer, has served on every PTA, has been the class parent countless times, raised funds for local schools and sports teams, and so much more. She has dedicated countless hours of her time to our community. The amount of love Alene has dedicated to Fairfield is not measurable. I am now looking for Fairfield to help Alene and Rudy.

Rudy was recently diagnosed with two large blockages which will require open heart bypass surgery. Rudy is scheduled to have his surgery next week at Bridgeport Hospital. He is in the care of an amazing team of doctors. They anticipate an approximate 3-4 month recovery for Rudy. During this time, Rudy will not be able to work. The family is heavily dependent on Rudy’s income.

Rudy and Alene are staples of our community and have given so much to help make Fairfield what it is today. Please consider donating to help ease the financial burden for the Sabados family while they cross over this bump in the road.
