Help With Flood Damage And Future Prevention
Donation protected
I am Geoff, and I’m currently awaiting a heart transplant. I have not been allowed (by the doctors) to work for over a year. My wife, Pauline, has had to earn enough for the four of us. This past summer (2023), she had to work 3 jobs for us to barely get by even with food stamps.
I am writing this from the hospital, while Pauline is dealing with a flooded basement and broken sump pump. Our basement is where our kids have their rooms, our laundry area, our pellet stove and more.
This will be the third December in a row that our basement has flooded. The other times I was able to help clean up somewhat, and I was present to help think things through.
When I receive my heart, I will need to come home to a mold free house, as I will have no immune system. We stress about this since we have no money to get a professional cleaning of our basement and attic space - which also has a leak.
We’ve tried to do this on our own, and with help from family. However, we need to not only clean the house, but try to prevent future floods, and that requires much more than we have, or than we can go in to debt for. So, please consider helping out with anything you can.
We are extremely grateful for any help and thank you for taking the time to read this.
