Below is Heather Rush family story.

 

8 years ago my life changed. I was pregnant finally after 5 miscarriages. At age 40 and 6 months pregnant I was told giving birth would kill me an advised to abort my child. I didn't. I had my baby and my health was bad. Heart related. I lost my job, lost my apartment became homeless with my baby and husband. My husband worked 3 jobs to save the money to get a place to live. 6 years goes by, we were struggling, but maintaining our home. I was finally able to go back to work. Our daughter was now in school. Everything is getting better and better. Then 2019 my husband was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer and he's unable to work. My dad moves in with us. Great news. 3 months later dad is diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer and a mass on his colon. Then, Pandemic. Still maintaining. Then, I lost my job after working everyday through this pandemic. I lost my job because in 6 months I took 5 days off to either get my husband to the hospital or a Dr appointment. Still maintaining. Finally, I got a new job. I'm the only one working trying to keep a roof, food, pay for medicine insurance won't cover and have time for my 7 year old and take care of my husband and father. Then, our landlord mails us a new lease for this coming year and raised our rent and extra $200 a month. I am terrified I can't do this. That I can't give everyone under my watch a stable place to rest their head. I am looking and searching for options to purchase a home. I can't keep going if the rent goes up again. I can handle a mortgage. I can't handle all the cost that come with getting a conventional kinda mortgage. I will find a way. Right now, I'm just fighting so hard to keep a safe roof and food and medicine for my family. I am embarrassed and humbled. I serve the Lord the best that I can. I give people rides that need it, a shoulder if needed, a meal if needed. I shop for those who need help. I try to pay it forward for all the assistance many have blessed us with. I am tired and stressed, but I will never give up. I love my daughter and husband too much to let them down. There's so much more between the line, but I tried to be short and not bore you all.
