Help The Royals Survive

The Kent Royals are the only speedway team in the South East of England. In fact, if you draw a line starting at Ipswich, passing through Mildenhall (Suffolk), across to Leicester, down to Oxford, and then down to Poole on the South Coast - everywhere above and to the left has Speedway, but the only place below the line is Iwade in Kent - the home of the Kent Royals.

2023 has been tough for the team, before they got to the stadium health issues had precluded them from seeking sponsors. Then a match which was abandoned midway through, and a postponement after everyone had travelled caused the club grave concerns - would there be sufficient funding to make it to the end of the season? The simple answer is that there isn't.

This Go Fund Me has been set up to enable fans to donate to help the club make it to the end of the domestic season.

There are two away matches (8th August at Oxford and 12th August at Workington) and 4 home matches (6th August against Workington, 20th August against Mildenhall and Oxford, 10th September against Edinburgh) and the club needs to be able to cover riders wages, travel fees, referees fees, track hire and insurance.

At the end of July the club paid out just over £2200 for tyres for the remainder of the season. The abandoned match caused a black hole in the finances as fans coming into the next home match used their entry (which is 100% correct to do) but this has a knock on effect.
