Help the Rothman Girls Cover Educational Costs

Dear friends,

I am asking you to help Taylor and Jessie Rothman.

In August, they lost the most important man in their life—their father, Curt Rothman. Curt passed away suddenly from Covid-19 in September, and in his final hours, unforeseen circumstances led to changes that have left his girls with no financial support. While grieving the sudden loss of their father the girls have been compounded with no means to pay for things they need, things their dad always provided. They were left with no resources for any educational or everyday expenses.

Taylor will graduate next year. The question of how to pay for a Winter term studying abroad or next year’s tuition are real concerns. She should not have to cancel this opportunity that only 12 students were chosen for. Jessie, who is 17, an honors student at Hoover and a prestigious Questbridge Finalist, has no 529 account. There is no safety net for Jessie. She does not own a computer, only a temporary loaner from her high school. The combination of educational and everyday expenses have been overwhelming. It remains unclear if the girls will even have the car which was in Curt’s name to continue driving to school and work. Taylor and Jessie are hard working students, they each hold jobs and try to help in any way they can. I know our North Canton, Jackson, and Canton Country Day Community can make a difference for these girls. They deserve our help.

I know Curt would have never wanted this to happen. He loved his Honey Badgers, they were his world.

Keep them in your thoughts, as this holiday season is incredibly difficult for them. I’d love to ease their burden a bit. All money will go to Taylor and Jessie.
