I’m organizing this fundraiser to support my great aunt Florence and cousin Lexy in Jamaica, who have been deeply affected by Hurricane Melissa

. The storm caused severe flooding and destruction throughout their community. Their home was badly damaged — the roof is completely gone — and most of their belongings, along with many daily necessities we often take for granted, have been destroyed.

I was lucky enough to visit them this past September, and it breaks my heart to know that their home and everything inside it have now been lost.

This fundraiser will help cover:

• Home repairs and rebuilding materials (roof, structure, cleanup)

• Temporary housing and essentials

• Food, clean water, and medical supplies

• Replacement of personal items lost in the storm
