An author group on Facebook has lost one of our own. Ed Robinson was a member of Tropical Authors and a friend and mentor to many of us. Sadly, Ed was diagnosed with inoperable and untreatable cancer last week. He announced the prognosis on Friday and passed peacefully in his sleep early Sunday morning.

His loving wife Kim, had precious little time to prepare for the eventuality before he was gone. We, the authors of TropicalAuthors.com are raising funds to help keep Kim on a somewhat even keel.

Ed touched the lives of many through his writing. His non-fiction, "Leap of Faith: Quit Your Job and Live on a Boat" led many people into the off-the-grid, cruising lifestyle and his fictional Meade Breeze led the way aboard Leap of Faith. Miss Leap was real, though. Ed and Kim spent many years aboard her, cruising Southwest Florida, the Bahamas, and beyond.
