Help the Robert’s in their time of need

Donation protected
Jana and Ryan were on a mercy mission. They decided almost last minute to participate in a sled dog race in Wyoming. But the real goal was a rescue trip to Montana after the race. They’d learned of two five month old Husky/Malamute pups in a dire situation. After several weeks of inability to arrange transport for the pups, Jana and Ryan decided to just go get them. Enroute west their trailer and truck were destroyed when they slid on black ice. Only by good graces did they and 29 dogs survive without injuries. However, one of their young pups is still traumatized and on the run. While attempting to do a good deed and rescue two pups from harms way they’ve experienced significant loss and trauma.

Hi my name is Star, I am Jana’s sister in law and have started this Go Fund me to help support these two amazing people in their time of need. Ryan and Jana and all their sledding dogs were in a terrible accident on 12/27 and have lost everything. I am starting this to help them get home and get some items replaced that they lost in the accident. Both the truck and trailer will be a total loss, as everything in the trailer was blown to pieces. Thank the Lord they are all alive and sustained no major physical injuries!

The Robert’s will have a long road ahead of them, even just starting with the task of making the trek back home to Upper Michigan, it will be an expensive task, not to mention replacing the truck and a trailer for all 29 dogs.
I will update as they come in.
Thank the Good Lord for their safety!!!

Here is her first description of the accident:

At approximately 10:30 local time, Ryan and I hit black ice with our pick up and fully loaded fifth wheel. Mile marker 374 on I90 in South Dakota. The trailer literally disintegrated, but the dog boxes held and protected our precious cargo. We had six missing, but all the others accounted for and quickly secured to the fence. Missing were my lead dog, two of our old ladies and three of the pups.

As of 12:25am, lead dog, old ladies and one of the pups have been found and secured. Still missing are our two blonde pups, but I’m hopeful that this amazing team of county sheriff and search and rescue will help us locate them.

The local tow truck driver is taking us and the dogs to his place so we can all have a safe place to decompress. And is loading our boxes out of the trailer onto his flat bed to see if we can use them in a uhaul to get home.
