Help The Roaming Foodie Bounce Back

Hello, my name is Jenna Calcavecchia and my family and I are raising funds for my brother, Joey Calcavecchia, also known as The Roaming Foodie.

Joey was in a terrible car crash on I-93 North in Andover, Massachusetts early in the morning on Tuesday, May 14th around 12:47 AM. He was on his way home after a long day’s work as The Roaming Foodie - doing what he loves and what he does best - exploring restaurants and creating content.

A deer ran across the highway and caused a multi-car crash. Joey was the last car in the pile up. Thankfully, Joey was still breathing on the scene once found by Massachusetts state troopers and first responders. He needed to be removed from his car by firefighters with the jaws of life. It is truly a miracle that Joey is still alive.

He was med flighted to Tufts Medical Center in Boston with serious injuries. Joey is in the ICU and has a few broken ribs, both lungs collapsed, fractures on his face, a crack in the front of his skull, and is currently on a ventilator.

For those that know Joey, he is best son, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend that ANYONE could ask for. He is kind, funny, smart, sociable, creative, and hardworking.

For those of you that know Joey as The Roaming Foodie, you know that he is THE food connoisseur of New England and is always on the search for the most delicious pizza, pasta, burgers, donuts and more. Joey has created a community of over 300 thousand followers on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube from the ground up. He is an avid supporter of local businesses. Joey is constantly collaborating with members of the community, be it local restaurants and hotels across New England, the Manchester Chamber of Commerce, and other food influencers. The Roaming Foodie is the cornerstone of food culture in the Northeast and beyond.

The funds will be used towards Joey’s time in the ICU at Tufts Medical Center, any medical procedures that he’ll undergo, medicine, any lost camera equipment from the accident, a new car because his was totaled, and money for everyday expenses since his job and livelihood will be on hold for the foreseeable future.
