Hi, we’re Matt and Jen Ritter. We’ve lived in our house for 5 years now. When we were looking at buying our house, our first thought was “Wow! That’s a gigantic tree. I hope it never falls on our house.” Every time it stormed, I’d pray for the tree to make it through. It is truly a beautiful tree and it provides so much shade for our home and keeps it cool during the hot summer.
Unfortunately, on Sunday, June 27th shortly after we woke up we heard a loud swoosh followed by a boom. One of the large limbs had fallen off the tree. Thankfully, it didn’t hit our house or cars and nobody was injured. However, after seeing that limb break off, it is clear that the tree has pest damage inside and it is probably only a matter of time before the other limbs become unsafe and fall. Next time we won’t be so lucky as all the other limbs are over our house and our neighbors house.
This is a very unexpected expense for us at this time. As many people know, we are going through IVF right now which is extremely expensive. So adding the cost of $6,000 to remove our tree on top of everything else is devastating. If it wasn’t a concern for the safety of our home and family, we wouldn’t be asking. If you can help in any way with reducing this burden, we’d greatly appreciate it. If you are unable to help financially, please share our story!
Thank you so much! -Matt and Jen Ritter
