Hi, my name is Marissa, my Family and I have been hit incredibly hard by the recent flooding from Hurricane Ida.

On Sept 1st, we were watching the news when water started streaming in through the side door of our house, we tried to save important documents and a few electronics, but ultimately had to evacuate after the water got to about knee deep. My family and I are safe, but unfortunately we do not have much left. We have lost so many memories and sentimental things, and almost all of our furniture. Our clothes are wet and muddy and we are tired and sad.

We are currently in a Hotel as we did not have anywhere else to go with 3 people , 2 dogs and 1 cat, and unfortunately costs are starting to add up, my husband and I are both unemployed due to Covid, which leaves all of the financial burden on my Mother in Law.

I know we are not the only family hit by this flooding and many others are in need of help, but if you are able to help us in any way, even if its just a dollar, it would be greatly appreciated.
