Help the Reunes Family Make Ends Meet

Hello Family and Friends!

I’m Pam King, a good friend of Kristin’s. As I got off the phone with Kristin yesterday my heart broke. I heard a woman who is overwhelmed right now: emotionally, physically and mentally. Not only is she taking on the emotional weight of everything going on in her family’s life, but she is also carrying the brunt of the household bills and the compounding medical costs that are inundating her and her family right now.

Her hubby Dirk has been out of work for 6 months due to a foot infection back in June. As he carried the weight of paying medical insurance for the family, the insurance has been CANCELED because they have not been able to pay the premiums. Not only that, they have had no choice but to get behind on the mortgage, electric and other utility bills. The 8-10 specialists he needs to see every 4 weeks are costly of course.

Just before Christmas, Dirk was released to go back to work. When at work he would become dizzy, lightheaded, and was not able to stand for long periods of time. Upon leaving work early (because he didn’t feel well) a few days ago he began having chest pains and broke into a sweat. Needless to say Dirk was admitted to the hospital two days ago for testing.

They are still waiting on results of a multitude of other tests, however one test came back to say that there is a blockage in his carotid. Kristin and Dirk found out that Dirk’s grandfather died of an aneurysm in his carotid, so they are praising God that they are finding this out NOW.

They also recently received news that his kidneys are not functioning well and he may need injections in his eyes for some serious retina issues.

I write this to inform friends and family that our dear Kristin is trying to “hold it together” right now. She holds a full time position, however, she is SERIOUSLY contemplating getting a second job for supplemental income. Friends, although she is highly capable to do this, it would not be helpful for her health and for her family at this time for her to take on ANOTHER job. She is ALSO the worship leader at True Life Church and uses her gifts for God’s glory.

Kristin, Dirk and the family ARE leaning on God right now for strength, peace, and provision, however, I feel that THIS is the moment to rally around them and give them the support they need.

If you are a praying person, please ask the Lord how you can support this beautiful family at this time (in ALL ways, not just financially). We can all be “creative” and help our sister and brother in need.
