I am Jehan from Gaza, a mother of 6 children. My beloved son Abdullah, my first joy, was 16 years old. He was killed while playing with children in the street. An air strike targeted them and he was killed for no reason. My daughter Dania is 18 years old, my daughter Sama is 15 years old, and my beautiful twins Tala and Rital are 11 years old. Finally, my spoiled child Mazen is 8 years old. My son Mazen is very attached to his older brother, the martyr Abdullah. Every day he cries over his loss and tells me that he wants to see him and that he misses him. I don’t know what to say to him, because I miss him too. He used to create an atmosphere of joy and happiness in the family. He had the most beautiful smile on earth. They deprived me of him, his laughter, and his presence. Until now, I am in a state of shock and unable to believe it. I am very afraid for my fate and the fate of my family. I am afraid for the rest of my children. I cannot imagine losing anyone else from my family. Since the beginning of the war, we have been suffering a lot. I have been displaced three times with my children and my husband to escape the death that follows us everywhere and to protect my children from death, only to end up with the death of Abdullah as a martyr. There is no safe place here in Gaza. Children, old and young, women and men are dying. I ask you to help me; you are our only hope for survival. My family needs your help.
