Help the Reese Family Through Surgery Recovery

Hello! I am reaching out to the community for some extra love and support for our friends, The Reese family, during an overwhelming time for them.

I have known the Reese family for over 10 years as members together at The Grove Church. I have always admired how hard-working and generous they are. You may know Courtney & Anthony from their long days in the kitchen preparing healthy, delicious food for The Grove's free community meal, or countless other moments with them over the past 10 years they have been a part of our community.

Our friend Courtney Reese is preparing for surgery on Monday.

She is having several large tumors removed and a full hysterectomy. This surgery is a blessing because it will greatly increase her quality of life, but it is also a great challenge because it will require her to take 6-8 weeks off work while she heals. If the surgeon is unable to do the procedure laparoscopically, then the surgery will be much more invasive and will require another 4-6 weeks of recovery.

Courtney's greatest stress is figuring out how she and Anthony will be able to keep their bills paid while she is out of work. For part of that time, she will be prohibited from driving, which means the family will have the additional expense of paying for Ubers.

If you have known them for a while, you have seen them overcome a lot of hard knocks, at no fault of their own, including a house fire and more recently, a long recovery from a head injury. These kinds of things take a long time to recover from financially, which makes needing this time off work for surgery a huge stress on Courtney. It's my hope that we can set up Courtney to be in a position to truly rest and recover, without the constant worry of how to make ends meet or compromising her healing out of dire need.
