Help the Reese Family save Cara Sue
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Deb and I first met the Reese family about 7 years ago when they began helping Pug Pals Rescue while living in Montana. They are devoted pet parents who have participated in every aspect of rescue, from fundraising to fostering. Imagine their heartache when they learned one of their own furry family members needed emergency surgery for a life-threatening illness.
Cara Sue is a quirky, senior pug mix that Reese and Lindsay adopted from a rescue in Arizona. Her silly expressions and sweet nature make her a crowd favorite at every pug event the Reese's attend. She truly captures the heart of everyone she meets.
When Cara Sue suddenly became lethargic, the Reeses immediately took her to the emergency vet. Because they were assured she was spayed at the time of adoption, Reese and Lindsay were dumbfounded when they were told she had Pyometra. Pyometra is a deadly infection of the uterus. Emergency surgery was performed and they learned her uterus had ruptured in places and the infection had moved beyond the uterine walls. The risk of going septic is still on the table.
Since the surgery, Cara Sue has remained hospitalized. She is awake and responsive but refuses food and is unable to regulate her body temperature. The Reeses visit her as often as they can and she is always happy to see them. They know she is still fighting and we are here to make sure they have what they need to fight with her.
The Reeses spend so much time helping others that it's difficult for them to accept help in their time of need. That is why I have started this fundraiser. All funds will go to them to help with Cara Sue's mounting vet bills. Please help if you can and share with your friends. Cara Sue and Reese & Lindsay need us.
