Holly has been through so much these past few years. She first started getting sick in 2021, and by April of 2022, things just kept getting worse. Since then, she’s had pneumonia multiple times and struggles with extreme fatigue. There are many days where she can’t even get off the couch.

In November of 2023, Holly and her husband Joshua discovered the cause of her sickness- mold toxicity. A routine duct cleaning revealed there was mold throughout their entire HVAC and ducts. This discovery led to a deeper inspection where they found mold in each bathroom, crawlspace, and a couple bedrooms.

Holly is a wife and a mom to two young kids who miss having their mom fully present. There are days she just doesn’t have the energy to play with them, go to their school events, or do the things she used to love. The emotional toll of being so sick for so long has been devastating. It’s exhausting, frustrating and heartbreaking—not just for Holly, but for her husband and kids, too.

Before all of this, Holly was an avid runner. She trained with a program through Nike and was on track to qualify for the Olympic Trials. Running wasn’t just something she did—it was part of who she was. But her dream was stolen from her as her health started to decline; the extreme fatigue and sickness made it impossible to keep up. There are days when she’s able to run and train, but it often gets disrupted when she has another setback. She just wants to feel strong again—to have the energy to chase her kids around, go for a run, and live life without constant exhaustion.

She and her family have been trying everything to get her better, but it’s been a long and exhausting fight. On top of her health struggles, she’s no longer able to work, which has put a huge financial strain on their family. They’ve had to deal with finding more and more mold in their home, which keeps making her sicker. They weren’t even finished cleaning up from the first mold removal before finding more and realizing they have to do it all over again.

Their family has taken on quite a bit of debt trying to get their home and Holly healthy, and they’re not finished. They thought they were done in spring of 2024 when they got the ducts clean and HVAC system replaced, but after Holly did not heal but got worse, they discovered the extent of the mold damage was greater than first realized. Along with the medical costs, they have to tear out all the carpet, replace mattresses and couches, tear out drywall, repaint their entire home, and remediate bathrooms to get their house completely mycotoxin free so she can fully heal. And despite her husband working every weekend, they are not able to get things done fast enough to get their family back to health.
