Rangers make history! Headed to 8-man nationals!
Help us make history! For the first time in school history, the Southern Prep Rangers football team is heading to the 8-man National High School Football Tournament in Panama City, Florida.
The Rangers currently have a 6-3 record, including three shut outs for the 2019 season.
A message from Head Coach Roland Bell...
A little about our team. Our players are from all over the U.S. as well as a couple other countries. We don't get to work with them all summer like most schools. We get them together in early August and start games a couple weeks later. They come in as individuals and must quickly form a team.
Last year we set two scoring records (64 points in a single game and average points per game at 35). We focused on just getting a little better every day.
This year we set another school record for largest margin of victory in a 61-0 win. We recorded 3 shutouts on defense which hasn't happened in 26 years. We won 6 games which is the most wins in a season since 1979 (40 years). We also were invited to the 8-man National Championship Tournament which is a national playoff. This is the first time our school has made any kind of playoff since 1969 (50 years).
We are hoping to do something that has NEVER been done at our school... Win a playoff game. I knew when I interviewed for this coaching job what the history was. Several people told me that the school can't win in football. But, these boys are special. They work hard and THEY ARE WINNERS!!! I'm proud of our Southern Prep Academy Rangers! RANGERS LEAD THE WAY!!!
All donations to this cause will be used as transportation for the cadets, meals, lodging, and registration fees. Each donation is 100% tax deductible.
