Help The Ranch build an all weather classroom

My name is Toni, and I am one of the co-founders of The Ranch in Weymouth. We are passionate about the local community and supporting everyone to improve their wellbeing. The Ranch uses animal-assisted activity and therapy sessions to encourage all visitors to get outside and experience a combination of what nature provides us in green spaces with rehomed and rescued animals.
We envision a community in which all people have access to information and treatment that can help them improve their mental and emotional health by the therapy of animals and achieve harmony, promoting healthier communities.
Our mission is to educate the public about mental heralth, empower all people's wellness journey and challenge the myths and stereotypes that surround mental health
We need your help. The Ranch needs an all-weather classroom setting to provide a tailored approach to vulnerable families and their children and anyone who would like to get outside and improve their wellbeing. The classroom will offer a unique therapeutic environment to learn and experience animal activity throughout the year.
We all have a story, and being outside is proven to improve our mental health and well-being; the opportunity for interaction with animals is also scientifically proven to make us feel good.
Animal interaction allows our bodies to release endorphins that have a calming effect. For those that struggle with emotion regulation (ADHD, ASD and a range of additional needs), animal-assisted activity assists via physical and emotional experiences. At The Ranch, all sessions are non-stressful, non-judgemental and person-centered.
At the Ranch, you can have group or 1-2-1 sessions with a therapy facilitator and the Ranch animal team. Sessions aim to build confidence, improve self-esteem, and positively impact your well-being and mental health.
There are opportunities for Goat yoga and Walking also, which are set in our green space
In today's world of complex problems and needs, adults and children need support with their overall mental well-being.
Outside green space is essential. As well as physical health, green space is associated with positive mental health. In an ever-increasing urbanised world, access to green space is reducing. At the Ranch, you are surrounded by more than 20 acres of fresh green air.
The Ranch is open to members of the local community and even those willing to travel, including schools, hospitals, child care providers and vulnerable community members.
