Surgery for Lian Tomas - Guatemala

Donation protected
I received this letter from a family friend a few days ago regarding their grandson; I have translated her letter and posted it below:

"I come to you with great sorrow but an even greater need. My two-and-a-half-year-old grandson, Lian Tomas Rojs Ramirez, has suffered seizures since he was six months old. According to a neurologist at the Human Epilepsy Center located at 7ª CALLE 1-62 Zona 10 of the City of Guatemala, he was diagnosed with scarring in the left temporal lobe, which has been treated with medication. Unfortunately, as the seizures become more frequent and consistent, surgery is urgently recommended before it becomes inoperable. This hospital is providing a social service, but even with this aid, the surgery will cost Q75,000 (USD$10,000), which we cannot afford since we have been in treatments, medications, and labs for almost two years, and our resources have already been exhausted. It is for this reason we come to you to ask for a donation for my grandson, to give him an opportunity for a better life. We also ask for your prayers so that God can guide the doctors and that this can be a successful procedure.

I have attached photos of my grandson, and we offer our thanks for your generous support. Sincerely, Enma Griselda SotoJ de Ramirez."

A typical salary for a day laborer in Guatemala is about $15 a day, so I know we can make a big difference in their lives with even a small amount collected. I know many people out there want to do some good for their fellow humans, so please help us to do a good thing for Lian Tomas and give him a chance at a better life.

Thank you very much for your generous donation!
