A time that is meant to be magical has turned stressful for Riley, Ulina, their 5 kids and 23 day old baby, Relic.

On the night of November 3rd, Relic was brought to hospital with a fever. After being sent from Squamish hospital to Lion’s Gate and then on to BC Children’s, it was determined he has bacterial meningitis. Doctors have already determined he will remain there for 2-3 weeks.

Riley is the sole breadwinner for their family of 8, and of course cannot work right now. He had not intended to take paternity leave so had not applied. He will do that, but those benefits are slow to come in and only 55% of his income. We want to support this family with their monthly bills, travel for Riley and other family members to and from the hospital, as well as nourishing food and supports for supermom Ulina. She is quite literally the best mom I know, taking care of 5 kids and now a sick newborn. It is not fair for any parent to face this kind of nightmare, but to add financial stress on top of it is just too much.

Riley does a lot for the community through his recovery, running groups for others helping themselves out of addiction. Please help me take this burden off his shoulders so he can be there with his family throughout this difficult time.
