Our amazing parents, the best grandparents to our kids, lifelong Palisadians, and pillars of their community, are among the thousands who tragically lost their home in the devastating Palisades Fire.
In an instant, everything they worked for their entire lives was gone. Every piece of clothing, essential paperwork, family photos spanning generations, baby books, and countless cherished memories—reduced to ashes. Their home, the heart of our family, is gone.
At a time in their lives when things should be getting easier—filled with a little travel, spoiling their grandkids, enjoying matinee movies, and taking peaceful afternoon naps—they now face the unimaginable: starting over from nothing. The Palisades, once vibrant and full of life, now resembles a war zone. Rebuilding their city may take years, and we’re left wondering if it will ever feel the same again.
This is not what anyone should have to endure, especially not in their 70s.
Our parents are the most generous, kind, and hardworking people you could ever meet. Both grew up in the Palisades, went to Pali High, and started Olliepop Skateshop, creating a true community movement and excitement. My dad also built over 100 homes in the Palisades, many of which are now gone due to the fire. For decades, they have gone above and beyond for others, never asking for anything in return. Now, they are the ones who need help—immense help—to begin rebuilding their lives.
We know so many are in need right now, and you may have already supported other families impacted by this tragedy. But if you’re able, any contribution—big or small—will make a meaningful difference in helping our parents recover from this challenging time. If you’re not in a position to give, we’d be so grateful if you could share this with others.
We are heartbroken, overwhelmed by the enormity of what they’ve lost. Knowing they have the support to begin this painful journey of rebuilding would mean everything to them—and to us.
Thank you for your kindness, love, and generosity.
