It is with profound sadness and heartfelt respect that we announce the unexpected passing of Lieutenant Mark Pytlewicz on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. Mark, a dedicated 22-year veteran of the Elk Grove Village Fire Department and local 2340, leaves behind his beloved wife and three sons. His sudden departure has created an irreplaceable void within both his family and our fire department community.
Mark was not only a devoted husband and father but also a committed public servant. He served our community with unwavering dedication as a company officer, a member of the technical rescue team, and the honor guard. His professionalism, honor and commitment to service have left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
We will greatly miss Mark's presence, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude for the time we shared with him. As his family navigates this challenging period, we kindly ask for your support. Please consider donating to the Pytlewicz family to help provide Mark with the honorable farewell he deserves and to offer some stability to his wife and sons during this uncertain time. If you are unable to donate, we would appreciate it if you could share this message.
With sincere thanks and respect,
Mark's brothers and sisters from the Elk Grove Village Fire Department
