Dear Friends, Family, and Beloved Community,

Today, I (Bonnie Rollin) reach out to share a challenging situation that has deeply impacted my dear sister Melonie, and the wonderful vendors at The Purple Pelican here in Florence, Oregon.

On March 23rd, a heavy Spring storm brought devastating damage to the roof of the Purple Pelican, causing extensive water damage to the store. The landlords acted swiftly, bringing in Service Master to manage the cleanup. However, the path to restoring the Purple Pelican is complex and ongoing. As the repairs continue, the vendors and Melonie remain unsure of when they can open the doors again.
This unforeseen closure has profoundly affected their livelihoods. The interruption in income for the dozens of vendors has placed them in a precarious position, struggling to manage living expenses and the legal fees necessary to navigate this crisis. These past weeks have been filled with uncertainty and worry about the future.

I am turning to you—our extended family, friends, and the greater Florence community. Your support has always meant so much to us. I’m setting up this GoFundMe to aid in covering living expenses and legal fees for those affected by the business closure . The Purple Pelican manages dozens of individual small business that rely heavily on the tourist market and local foot traffic. The lost income is affecting everyones livelihoods, and they can’t wait to open again, but until that time, they need our help to get through.

Any contribution, big or small, will make a significant difference. Your generosity will not only provide financial relief but will also be a powerful reminder of the community's love and support that the Purple Pelican has been proud to be a part of for so many years.

Thank you for taking the time to read, and for considering this plea for help. The Purple Pelican misses their customers, this community, and the joy of day-to-day interactions. With your support, we can all hope to overcome these challenges and reopen the doors.

With deepest gratitude,
Bonnie Rollin and the Purple Pelican Family
