Help Us Rescue a Stray Dog Family in Baja

Hi, my name is Amy, and I live in Mexico, though I’m originally from Canada. On February 1st, we moved into a new home in La Ventana, Baja California Sur and immediately noticed a pair of stray dogs—a sweet mom and dad—wandering near our house. We started feeding them right away, and they quickly stole our hearts.

We soon realized that the mom was nursing, meaning she had puppies somewhere. A week later, while I was out on a walk, she led me into the nearby bushes—and there, hidden under the brush, were her three tiny baby girls. Without hesitation, we brought them home to safety.

Since February 10th, we have been caring for this beautiful little family—Mom, Dad, and their three puppies. Local rescues are completely at capacity, so we’ve taken on the responsibility ourselves. The puppies were just 2.5-3 weeks old when we found them, and they’re now about 4 weeks old.

We’re raising money to help cover:

Spay & neuter for both Mom and Dad to stop the cycle of strays

Vet visits & vaccinations for the whole family

Puppy food, formula, and supplies

Medications & preventative care

March 20th edit: We have incurred a ton of extra unexpected bills with the dogs getting sick, and we have to pay for transportation for the Mom & Dad dogs to go to adoptive homes. Any donation really helps us, we’ve already spent way over $3000 USD out of pocket to rescue them (as well as missed tons of work and paying double rent to continue to stay here to take care of them)
