Help the Pullus Family Rebuild After Devastating House Fire
Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters,
On January 3rd, my sister Teresa, her husband Kevin, and their four young children—Celia (10), James (7), Tristan (3), and Emma (3 months)—experienced a life-altering tragedy when a devastating fire destroyed their beloved home (and took the lives of 2 of their cats). They now face a cold and difficult winter on top of the regular demands of parenting young children and nursing an infant.
What’s the damage?
To put it simply, they lost everything in the house, including all furniture, valuables, and personal belongings. All that remains is the shell of the stone farmhouse as well as their livestock and work vehicles, which they keep in the barn on the other end of the property.
Will insurance help?
Yes and no. Yes, there was insurance to cover the cost of rebuilding their home, but there was not insurance coverage for any of their personal belongings and household items.
What will it take to get back on their feet?
The current estimate is that it will take 5-6 months to rebuild their house. Due to the livestock and their children’s school being nearby, they will need to stay on-site during the rebuilding process. This necessitates securing temporary housing in the form of a mobile home or RV trailer, which could cost between $20,000 and $30,000 for a used model.

Due to these uniquely challenging circumstances, especially the fact that the insurance will NOT cover their household items, we are reaching out to our community to raise an ambitious goal of $65,000 to assist the Pullus family in:
- NOTE: THIS HAS BEEN COVERED: Securing Temporary Housing - $20k: Purchasing or renting a suitable mobile home to accommodate the family on their property during the rebuilding process.
- Replacing Essential Belongings - $25k: Furnishings, clothing, and daily necessities lost in the fire.
- Covering Daily Expenses - $20k: Groceries, utilities, and other immediate needs as they navigate this challenging time.
