Our community is AMAZING. We now have the funds, just hours in, to not only purchase the fridge/freezer we initially were reaching for, but the stove we updated the goal for. Thank you for helping us smash our initial goals. As we are only a few hours in, we are again updating the goal to include some of the PrideCenter's wish list for those that still want to contribute. The list includes new flooring, replacing the industrial lighting to make the Center more inviting, additional seating etc. We cant thank you enough for helping us reach our goal, and thank you in advance for considering helping us cross additional items off the "bucket list" of needs for our regions only LGBT Center
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THAT HAVE DONATED IN JUST THE FIRST FEW HOURS! WE HAVE ADJUSTED OUR GOAL IN THE HOPES OF ALSO OBTAINING AN ELECTRIC STOVE FOR USE WITH THE SUNDAY SUPPERS, THANKSGIVING AND CHRISTMAS DINNERS ETC. YOU ALL ARE ROCK STARS
I get a lot of people asking what they can do for Pride in appreciation for the hundreds of hours myself, my fellow Board members and tireless volunteers do to put on PrideFest
I was reminded the other day of how Fair St. Louis used to always make a gift to the City after their Fourth of July celebration. One year it was lights on the Eads Bridge, another it was an overlook stage on the riverfront etc. So it occurred to me, what a great way to let people show their appreciation and help fulfill a need at the same time.
When Pride St. Louis moved into our current offices 6 years ago, left behind was this 70's era refrigerator. While it still limps along it is very old, falling apart and of course has no water or ice connections.
As our offices also hold the only PrideCenter in the region and we host dozens of community events, dinners, and gatherings, lend our space for numerous not for profits for meeting space, operate a computer lab, offer a Safe Space and more, we could really use a more modern and efficient refrigerator for all to use.
Any monies raised over the amount will be used to have a water line run to it so that there is also an ice machine.
I cant thank everyone enough for offering to support! If you have any questions you can email me at [email redacted]
