Hi friends and family,

My family has been in a whirlwind that started well over a year ago but really kicked itself into high gear at the end of January.

After every family member presented with various health issues, and after lots of medical testing and house testing - we were finally able to identify that we had been living in a high volume of hidden toxic mold.

We decided to leave the house, remediate it for the next buyers, and go ahead and sell it. After hopping around from our parents homes to friends homes and back again - we have finally found a healthy home that we pray we can all heal in. The hunt to find a mold-free home isn’t as easy as you would hope. And it’s taken us a long time. But we’ve had an amazing team who has helped us look at what feels like 100 houses, and carefully choose one that we pray will be a safe haven for us.

Because of the nature of the mold in our previous home, anything that could not be thoroughly cleaned/soaked had to be thrown out. Everything from mattresses, furniture, kids lovies, nearly all of our books, and everything in between. This ended up being about 90% of our belongings.

In the coming weeks we have to refurnish an entire home as well as hopefully begin new medical plans for each family member to be able to address the mold in our bodies. Because of the nature of the mold and our sensitivity to it, we can’t purchase anything second hand. Everything has to be brand new. 

So any gift you give will go toward new home furnishings or medical expenses.
