Update 12/6:

Kristina is at home recovering with her family. Next steps are to get her pathology results and a PET scan to determine if further treatments will be needed. She'll remain out of work until at least mid January at this point. Her request is that everyone take their health seriously. Trust your gut, get checked out and advocate for yourself and your loved ones!

Update 12/1:

It's official, Kristina is headed home! Keep up the momentum. Continue to keep her in your prayers during the first step of her recovery XO.

Update 11/28 from our girl:

"I’m in a LOT of pain but still able to go to the bathroom assisted, sitting in a chair and FINALLY got to eat little something.

Got some news that isn’t super great. The tumor I had was cancer. It was non-small carcinoma. Once it get tested more we will know exactly what kind more specifically."

After suffering for two years with health issues, mysterious symptoms and no answers from many doctors, Kristina was rushed to the hospital with severe chest pains last week.

We are still waiting for answers. Along with some abnormal bloodwork they found a very large mass in her right lung. It is believed to be a hormonal tumor and because it is surrounded by vessels, it must be removed immediately. A biopsy was cancelled due to the vascular nature of the mass. Initial testing revealed that a much more invasive surgery to remove the lower lobe entirely would actually be safer than the risk of bleeding from taking pieces.

Kristina had to spend Thanksgiving in the hospital while she awaits surgery scheduled for Monday.

This emotional burden can only be worsened by the huge financial burden of being forced out of work during the holidays. Kristina recently married Lonnie, the love of her life, and together they are raising a beautiful little girl. Let’s help this family through this however we can!
