Help a displaced family in crisis
Hi, everyone. We never thought we'd have to ask for help like this, but here we are-our little family, including our 15-year-old son Noah, our dog, and our cat, have been living in a hotel for the past four days after what we thought would be a fresh start turned into a nightmare.
We left our old home because the landlord was selling the property, and we were hopeful about moving into a new apartment. We paid the deposit, packed everything, and made the trip… only to arrive and find the place uninhabitable. There were no working fire alarms. The toilet was unusable and covered in urine. Exposed baseboard heaters made it unsafe, especially for our pets. Trash and furniture from the old tenants were still there. It was heartbreaking.
We're doing our best to stay strong, but the truth is: funds are running out fast. I'm currently unemployed due to the move, and Adam is about to run out of paid time off—which means his next days off will be unpaid. We're trying to hold it all together, but we're hanging by a thread.
If you've ever been in a situation where you're just doing your best for your family and everything falls apart—you know how this feels. We're not asking for much. Anything helps. Even a few dollars gets us closer to another night of safety or a step toward a new, stable place to live.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring. And thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us get through this.
