Help this amazing young team of LEGO Robotics Champions reach the Canada Cup!
Four determined Grade 4 students from Bluenose Academy have accomplished something incredible.
In their very first year taking part in FIRST LEGO League Robotics, the PIEMunchers won the provincial Championship at Acadia University as the youngest team in the event.
Through hours of dedication in the afternoons, teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity, these students designed, built, and programmed their own robot to complete complex challenges and tackle real-life problems in the field of archeology.
FIRST LEGO League challenges students in four areas:
• Robot Game – designing and programming a robot to complete missions
• Innovation Project – researching a real-world problem and presenting their own solution
• Robot Design – explaining the engineering and coding behind their robot
• Core Values – demonstrating teamwork, collaboration, and problem-solving
Now they have been invited to compete at the Canada Cup of Robotics at Brock University in Niagara Falls in June 2026, where teams from across Canada and around the world come together to celebrate innovation, learning, and collaboration.
Opportunities for young students to engage in STEM and Robotics are still relatively rare on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, making this achievement even more meaningful.
Attending the competition requires travel, accommodation, registration fees, and equipment. Through fundraising and community generosity, we aim to raise $12,000 to make this project possible.
Every donation - big or small - helps these young innovators represent their school, their community, and Nova Scotia on a national stage.
More importantly, your support helps encourage a love of science, technology, teamwork, and problem-solving that will stay with them for life.
Thank you for helping these young robotics champions take their next big step.
