Help the Pickersgills Set up Home in STL!

Hi there!

 

If you've found this page, you know that the Pickersgill fam is on the move! And we're very excited about it! During the last couple of years, we found ourselves thinking about what's next for our family, and we started dreaming big. Like, really big. Like, move across the ocean big! A few things fell together, and even through some difficult situations, we started to feel the strong and fun invitation to move to St Louis, Missouri, which is where Erin grew up. It's been twenty years since Erin lived permanently in the States - half her life ago!

 

When we started exploring these ideas, Erin found favour with the Diocese of Missouri, who have helped her continue a discernment into ministry from the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham in the Church of England to the Episcopal Church in America. She will finish her ordination training, and her Masters in Systematic Theology, by being ordained at the Episcopal Cathedral in St Louis on the 18th June this year. We're still exploring different options of where she might work as a newly deaconed minister. David is finishing his (second!) Masters, in Psychology from Nottingham University, and hopes to do some exciting work in business, management or project management.

 

Liberty (nearly 9) and Frances (7) are so excited to move closer to their three cousins (very close indeed - right next door!) and have a big American summer before starting school in the Fall.

 

We are going to miss England - especially our friends and family here, and also the rural landscape, Marmite, public footpaths, the NHS, etc etc!!!

 

But finally, we've created this page for folks who have kindly helped us empty our home of belongings and furniture before we fly. For you, if you would like to donate a gift to help us replace some of these items on the other side of the Atlantic and set up home, we would be so grateful. Any amount is more than generous.
