Help the Phillips Family Recover from Devastating Fire

Donation protected
The Phillips family of Salem, NY: Ed, age 90, his son Michael Phillips and partner, Eileen Laverty, have lost everything due to a horrific fire on January 27 that gutted their Main Street home and destroyed all of their possessions. Devastatingly, their beloved Labrador dog, Ripton, died in the fire.

Good Samaritan/heroes saw the fire flames and carried Ed Phillips out of the burning home to safety. He was transported by helicopter to Westchester Burn Center due to the severity of his burns over 14% of his body. Miraculously, he is expected to recover but faces a long road ahead including rehab.

The Phillips family has always been an integral part of the Salem community. Ed grew up in Salem and has lived his whole life in the village. He is the type of man who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. His late wife was the same and worked at Salem Central School until her retirement. The Phillips' 4th of July parties have been enjoyed by locals for decades. Michael and Eileen have so many friends in Salem through their working relationships and generosity around town. Now it is Salem's time to help them in their time of need.

Any amount will be welcomed to help the family. The photos show how they have truly lost EVERYTHING.

Thank you for your help!
