Help the Petersons' Rebuild Their Home After Devastating Flood Damage

The Petersons family has weathered more storms than most, but this time, the floodwaters came right into their home.

They woke up to find their basement filled with nearly four feet of sewage water. In a matter of hours, it destroyed their brand new furnace, water heater, washer, dryer, stand-up freezer, refrigerator, couch, bed, cabinets, chairs, and countless treasured personal belongings. Everything in the basement must be gutted to the studs and rebuilt from scratch.

Even though they had water damage insurance, the policy will only cover $5,000—barely enough to make a dent. For perspective, the furnace alone cost $7,000.

The Petersons have always given everything they have to others. They’ve opened their home to foster children, ultimately adopting and providing a safe, loving environment. Their hearts have been a safe harbor for so many—now they need a safe harbor of their own.
