Sunday night our world changed forever. My mom, who has been courageously fighting terminal cancer, was given the heartbreaking news that her liver is no longer functioning. Her body has already begun shutting down, and she is severely jaundiced, with her skin and eyes turning very yellow. Everything is happening so quickly, and we are still trying to process it all. The doctors have told us there are no treatment options left. She is now being placed on hospice care so she can be kept comfortable and surrounded by love. We don’t have a clear timeline—whether it’s days, weeks, or a short couple of months—but we do know that our time with her is limited.

My mom is so deeply loved. She is a mother, a source of strength, and the heart of our family. Right now, our only focus is being by her side, holding her hand, talking to her, and making sure she knows how loved she is during this time. As we prepare for what’s to come, we are also facing the difficult reality of burial or cremation costs, as well as the need to help manage family essential expenses during this incredibly difficult time.
