Help the Perkins Family in Their Time of Need

Donation protected
Hello Everyone,
My name is Michell Perkins, the mother and widow of a family that has fell victim to an unfortunate tragedy of death and a continued battle with cancer. I have never asked for help; however, on this day I am seeking those who can assist with the great loss endured over the past 4 years.
On 8/17/21 my now 18-year-old son, Ira Perkins Jr., also known as “Manny” started having problems and was taken to Ochsner Hospital where an Xray was done and noted there was a lesion on his liver. He was set up for a liver biopsy and then Hurricane Ida hit forcing my family to evacuate to Texas. While in Texas my son started having difficulty breathing and had to be rushed to the Texas Children’s Hospital. On 9/9/21 my husband and I received the worst news any parents could ever receive, my son, Manny was diagnosed with soft cell tissue Spindle Sarcoma. He underwent chemotherapy and on 12/8/21 had surgery to remove the tumor, along with 3 ribs, part of his diaphragm, and a lung resection. Manny’s journey continued with more chemotherapy, causing me to stay in Texas, lose my job, having to care for my sick child and bring him to numerous chemotherapy treatments and doctor appointments, all while my husband traveled back and forth from Texas to Louisiana to continue work and support our family. On 3/9/22, we finally thought our sweet Manny had beaten this horrible cancer and was told he was in remission. We began to pay off the debt incurred from the tragedies of dealing with our sick child and losing our home in Louisiana due to the hurricane. On 9/6/24, just as we thought life was moving forward toward a more stable direction to purchase a home and live life without worries; we received news Manny’s cancer had returned. This time the cancer had spread to lymph nodes in his chest, neck and right jaw. Manny is currently enduring more chemotherapy, fighting with everything within him, but the diagnosis is not looking good.
Sighing!! The worst news one could ever expect or want to hear.
On 3/31/25, my husband, Ira Charles Perkins Sr.’s, was commuting back to Louisiana for work and was involved in a fatal motor vehicle accident. I am unable to work, caring for my critically ill son. The life insurance company is contesting proceeds due to a change in the policy and can take several months to complete. We have lost our health insurance and our means of income to live. In the meantime, I would like to give my husband the proper burial he deserves while continuing to maintain stability to care for our family and critically ill son. If you all can please find it in your heart to assist it will be greatly appreciated. My wish is that No family endure this much pain and suffering! We will continue to have faith in God and pray for miracles! God bless! #mannystrong
