Help The Perez' with Emergency Medical Expenses

Hello everyone!

We are currently on a volunteering program on Lake Atitlan, Guatemala, working with permaculture and agroecology on local farms around the lake. During our time here we lived in a little town by the name of San Juan, where we were incredibly fortunate to be taken in by the Mayan Perez family, who ended up being our local homestay.

These people have been the most welcoming, kindhearted, and hospitable people imaginable. Their family and house are warm and inviting and they made San Juan and their home feel like homes of our own during our time in the country, and despite not being given much, they went above and beyond to make our stay in San Juan so much more than what anyone could have asked of them.

However, shortly after new years eve, one of their daughters, Eva, came back from her home in Antigua suffering from intense pain in her stomach. She was promptly admitted to the hospital and it turned out she needed surgery. Although the operation went well, it put the family 10000Q in debt, which translates to about £1000 or 1300 USD.

These people have not only opened their house up to us, but they also made us feel apart of their family. The financial situation they are in would be a huge burden for most, let alone this family. However, We can help! We can make a change! If we come together and contribute even just a little bit, we can make a world of difference to these incredible people.
