Help the Pelli Family

In October of 2020 my mom became unexpectedly and tragically disabled from a brain tumor that required immediate surgery. At the time of our decision to try and remove it, we were advised that had we not gone ahead with the surgery, we would have limited time left with her. This came to us as a complete shock, as she was never ill or ever indicated that there was a problem.
As delicate as this procedure was, we only anticipated the worst outcome and failed to realize the aftermath and the much needed care that we would be faced with. My mom went from being the most independent woman we knew to someone needing twenty-four hour care that my family was not ready for. She has spent the last 5 months in the hospital, due to numerous complications, but thankfully through her will and determination she has come home! Though while our family is so grateful she is home with us, she unfortunately can no longer walk, sit herself up, consume food orally, have full use and control of her extremities and the saddest part of it all is she has vocal cord paralysis so hearing our mom’s voice won’t ever be the same. As you can expect, this level of sudden disability has resulted in the need for at home nursing care, medical equipment, out of pocket expenses, self-paid insurance, specialty food, medical transport, and at home physical therapy care to allow her to attempt to resume a level of normalcy. We are still not sure what that will entail.
My sisters and I have never dealt with devastation to this magnitude and we are all trying our best because if you ever knew my mom, you’d know her kids were her entire life.
Now it’s time for us to care for her and sometimes asking for help is the first step.
Any small donation would help. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this would help to reach others that could help us. A little goes a long way and while we’ve tried for months to do it on our own and keep this matter as private as possible, we are turning to others to help us through this time.
Thank you so much and for those of you that know my mom, know how great she truly is.
