Help the Peirces - Everything Stolen by Movers

My wife Kyra and I (Cade) moved to Atlanta from Salt Lake City in 2020 for adventure and fun pursuing our acting dreams! While out there, we realized being away from family and friends was far too difficult! After I was subject to an unexpected layoff, we decided to move back in September of this year to enjoy our lovely support net in Utah! We are thrilled to be back, but we have hit some roadblocks in the process!

We hired movers to assist with the cross-country move, and it seems they have stolen all our belongings. And we are only one of 12 others we know of that have been victimized by this company. It has been 70 days since the movers picked up our stuff, and we have never been provided information on where our belongings are or when the movers intend to deliver them. We have spoken with their customer support and have been told multiple times that “it should be there next week,” yet it never arrives. When we try to reach dispatch, our calls are ignored OR immediately transferred and hung up on. It is clear that the company has no intention of delivering our stuff to us.

We are at a loss. Not only has all of our stuff been stolen, but we also lost a lot of money in the cross-country move between paying the movers that stole from us, travel expenses, and suffering a job loss.

We have filed two police reports, one in the state of the movers and one in Utah, where they have filed it as theft. Unfortunately, neither department can help us. We are currently trying to work with renters insurance to give us some starting point to rebuild our lives. We aren’t sure how far that renter's insurance (if the claim is approved) will get us, especially with the nation's inflation issues.

I know this is a tough time of year for many, but we have started this Gofundme to help re-purchase our necessary belongings. In the move, we lost everything from our Bed to our toolbox to our pots and pans. And, while many sentimental things cannot be replaced, we are trying to stay positive and begin to look forward to building our new life.

If anyone can offer anything to help us, we would be so deeply grateful! Thoughts/prayers/positive vibes are also very welcome!

Thank you all so much - Happy holidays! We love you!
