Help the Pavlik Family Stay Together After a Devastating House Fire
If anyone knows this family they know how they will go at any length to help others out. They remain positive and happy even through the darkest times. I’ve decided to make this gofundme to ask for help during one of the hardest and traumatizing times this family has experienced.
My aunt, uncle, and cousin recently lost the ability to live in their home after a devastating house fire. Due to the damage of the fire it left the house unsafe to live in. They were not able to move or touch anything to this day including clothes due to the insurance company, starting from scratch. Around the same time, my aunt also lost her job, compounding the financial and emotional stress overnight.
Initially, insurance placed them in a temporary apartment. At first this was a big help but overtime the insurance company was late or missing payments resulting in the rent to keep increasing. Despite their efforts, the insurance company has now stopped covering the housing — even though the home is still not safe to live in. They are now responsible for over $3,000 a month in rent while still paying their mortgage on a home they cannot occupy.
Because they simply cannot afford both payments and have maxed out credit cards, they are being forced to move out of the apartment next month and return to a damaged home just to have a place to stay. When reconstruction begins, they will have to leave again with no clear timeline, potentially facing separation or long-term hotel stays just to remain together as a family.
At the same time, they are trying to support their daughter through her first year of college, a moment that should be exciting — but has instead been filled with uncertainty and stress about where her family will live.
They have also had to make heartbreaking choices, including postponing a necessary surgery for their dog, who has a torn meniscus, because they are struggling to afford basic housing expenses like groceries.
Anything you can give — even just sharing this page — means more than you know. This family is doing everything they can to stay together and get back on their feet.
Thank you for your kindness, prayers, and support.
With gratitude,Megan Lawn
