With heavy hearts, the Kanyama-Phiri and Alleman families share the devastating news of the passing of George Matthew Phiri Alleman, the beloved 17-year-old son of Walinda Phiri-Alleman [née Kanyama-Phiri]. George passed away unexpectedly on June 7, 2025, in Raleigh, North Carolina.

George was a gentle soul—loving, kind, and full of life. He brought joy to everyone around him and carried a quiet strength, a generous heart, and a future filled with promise. His sudden passing has left an unfillable void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

As the family grieves this unimaginable loss, they are also facing significant financial burdens—funeral and memorial expenses, international travel costs for Walinda’s parents to say their final goodbyes, and time away from work so Walinda can process her grief and care for her two other children, ages 19 and 8.
