Help the Palmer Family Through Steve's Cancer Battle
Donation protected
Please join me in rallying around my sister and her family in their time of need. As many know, my brother in law, Steve Palmer, was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in February of 2024.
The last 12 months have been relentless with challenges. Steve has been fighting a heroic fight. He has endured countless chemo treatments, hospitalizations, therapies, Dr appts, scans, and tests. This has taken a toll on the family emotionally and financially. After speaking with Christina and hearing their most recent challenges, I knew it was time to ask for help on their behalf and rally around them during this longer than anticipated journey.
Unfortunately, Steve has only been able to work 3 of the last 12 months. He had hoped to return to work by now, but will continue to be out longer than they anticipated and planned for. He is gearing up now to continue to fight with more chemo treatments as well as radiation. With new year deductibles that had to be met, several hospital stays just this year, and a brand new treatment plan beginning, they are feeling overwhelmed. With cancer a common word in their household since 2022 and Christy still having monthly oncology visits along with yearly scans and tests, I say it’s been overwhelming and difficult for the last couple of years for the both of them. Thankfully, Christy remains in remission! We are praying that Steve gets there too!
The donations will help offset rising out of pocket medical expenses, local travel to several dozen doctor appts and hospital stays. The donations will also help offset the decrease in Steve’s pay until he can return to work and help them with household expenses. They have just discovered that their A/C is going to need some repairs before the Georgia heat returns. My goal is to have enough donations that their hard working college kids get back to receiving gas money from their parents, such deserving kids that have stepped up to handle so much while their parents take turns fighting the cancer battle.
I can’t imagine the struggle of finances they’ve had the last year without asking for help. So please help me in donating to lessen the burden of finances while they continue this fight! If you are not already following Steve’s Caring Bridge page for updates throughout the week, please subscribe for updates as we’d love to have the biggest support group possible cheering for Steve during his journey. We are all so very thankful to everyone for their support during this time.
