Our family never imagined we would be in this position, but today we are asking for help during one of the hardest seasons of our lives.

My dad recently underwent LVAD heart surgery — a life-saving procedure for people with severe heart failure. This surgery has given him a second chance at life, and for that, we are incredibly grateful. But recovery from an LVAD is long, intense, and life-changing. Doctors have told us he will be unable to return to work for well over a year while his body heals and he learns to live with this device.

My dad has always been the kind of person who shows up for everyone. He has worked hard his entire life to provide for our family, and asking for help does not come easily for him — or for us. But between medical bills, medications, travel for appointments, and everyday living expenses, the financial burden has quickly become overwhelming.

Right now, our biggest worry isn’t just his health — it’s how we’re going to keep the lights on, keep food on the table, and make sure he can focus on healing without the constant stress of mounting bills.

We are starting this fundraiser to help cover:

• Prescription medications

• Transportation to ongoing appointments

• Household and living expenses while he is unable to work
