Update: Romina and Benjamin and their young son Dan have moved into temporary housing as they are unable to live in their home due to the damages. The fire and smoke damage makes it impossible for them to move back in until their home is cleared out and cleaned up. They are actively working on the getting the electricity rewired throughout their home as well. It is not what they expected their Christmas would be like, but they are so happy they all made it out without injury. Please pray for them as it has been a very trying time for their family. Every donation is appreciated.
Hello, these are my friends Benjamin and Romina Onofre with their son Dan. They live in Mexico City where they helped plant a new church. Both of them lead worship and are serving discipling others. They also help run a small coffee shop after service. They are always willing to help out anyone who is in need. As a matter of fact, they are caregivers to their adult special needs cousin. They are a true definition of what Ephesians 6:7 says about being a servant; they serve wholeheartedly, as if they were serving the Lord.
This past week, Romina's family suffered a house fire and half of the house caught on fire. She works from home, and when she turned on the heater, there was a terrible smell. When she walked toward the bedroom, that part of her house was in flames. They were not injured, nor were their dogs, but all of their clothes and everything in the bedrooms were ruined. Even though the fire was on one side of the house, the entire house is full of ashes, and the smoke damage is intense. They cannot stay in the house as the smell is overwhelming. And in Mexico, it is not customary to have home insurance.
With this being said, I am asking for financial assistance for their immediate needs at this moment and hopefully to help them with the electrical repairs, replacing lost furniture, and household necessities. Please find it in your heart to donate. No amount of assistance is too small. Every donation is greatly appreciated.
We are asking for your prayers for this young family as they go through this difficult time.
Thank you so much.
