Help the O'Neils Find Magic When It's Most Needed

The Matriarch of our family, Maria O'Neil, was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer two and a half years ago. Our entire family moved from different places in the country to be near her and help her in her battle, and she fought with the ferocity we all knew she would. We were deeply saddened to hear that cancer continues to spread despite her brilliant efforts, and her body will likely not be able to withstand more treatment.

 

To say Disney and Disneyland were a massive part of our family would be an understatement. In a sense, you could say our family started at Disneyland as Maria and John celebrated their honeymoon there. It continued to be a significant part of our family; when both sons were children, we had annual trips to Disneyland, and our memories there became some of our most cherished as a family. Were you to walk into the O'Neil residence today; you would not only be greeted by a plethora of Disney décor but by four dogs who are aptly named GusGus (Cinderella), Penny (The Rescuers), Darling (The Lady and the Tramp), and of course Disney (no explanation needed).

 

As we approach Maria and John's 33rd wedding anniversary, Maria's final hope is that our whole family can make one last trip to Disneyland and create an unforgettable group of memories that we can cherish once she has left us. Unfortunately, through all of the moving and medical treatments, we sadly lack the funds to bring our family of eight to Disneyland and provide the magical experience Maria and the rest of her loved ones dream of. We are asking for any assistance you can provide in making this dream a reality and appreciate immensely those who even take the time to read or share this story.
