Hey guys!
The story I'm telling you is not my own, specifically, but does affect me. This story is about a family that my family, and many of you, holds very dear. It's about the Obermans!
Jason and Carmen have been some of the best friends, role models, and mentors I could have asked for. Jason has given more to me and my family than I could ever repay and the best thing is that he's never asked for anything in return. Long phone conversations, teaching me how to preach (don't worry Jason, I can't blame that entirely on you haha), giving me business ideas, showing me how to love well, sending us money to sow into our own ministry are all examples of 15 years worth of the Obermans faithfully pouring into us.
The great thing is, my story is not the only one. I'm sure a lot of you reading this have had the same experience with Jason and Carmen.
As most of you that are reading this know, Jeremiah, Carmen and Jason's oldest son, has been having extreme seizures for the last 18months. They have stood in faith, believing God for a miracle! During this time I would talk with Jason via phone only to find him still pouring out into me and others despite what was going on with his son. Of course I knew and we would talk about it, but his heart was always to give.
Well know it's my turn...our turn :)
As most of you know, and the above video shares, Jeremiah was accepted into and his surgery was approved at Duke hospital. They are there now as I write this and I just heard that the first surgery was completed. Now we wait (please watch the video above for more details). Praise God!
Here is what is on my heart. The surgery is covered through insurance, but as we all know life still goes on and bills still come in. With Jason being self-employed, it's no work, no pay. And being up at Duke for possibly two weeks or longer could get even more difficult. I'm sure if they are like the rest of us in that they just want a healthy son, but we also know there are some practical things that must be taken care of. Let's HELP!
Now, they have no idea I'm even doing this.
With the season of giving in front of us, let's come together to bless this family so much that it surprises me (haha because they have no clue).
I set a goal for the above, but what if God doubled it?!
Thanks,
Nick
