Dear Friends,

Many of you know that Larry Nuesslein has been bravely battling a serious blood and bone cancer since August 2024. Those first few months were touch-and-go, but thanks to treatment, support from loved ones, and Larry’s own strength, he’s feeling significantly better. While the cancer is considered chronic and won’t disappear completely, there’s hope it can be managed for many years to come.

With immense gratitude, the family was nearly able to cover Larry’s hospital bills last Fall, thanks to the generosity of friends and family.

But now, they’re facing another medical crisis.

Just weeks ago, Heather underwent an emergency neck surgery due to severely misaligned vertebrae. The surgery initially went well—but soon after, Heather suffered a sudden, life-threatening reaction. Whether caused by post-op inflammation or a reaction to pain medications, no one is quite sure. What we do know is that Heather spent nine terrifying days in the ICU fighting to stabilize.

She is now home—but recovery is slow and incredibly challenging. She can only walk short distances with a walker and is unable to climb stairs. The family has set up a temporary bedroom for her in the dining room while she regains strength. Through it all, Larry—despite his own health battle—has been deeply moved by how lovingly their children are stepping up to care for their mother.

Both Larry and Heather’s employers have been wonderfully supportive. But the medical costs have become overwhelming. And with no clear timeline for Heather’s full recovery, the financial uncertainty is heavy.

This is where we come in.

We’re raising funds to help the Nuesslein family manage the growing medical expenses, make necessary adjustments to their home, and allow both Larry and Heather to focus fully on healing—not on bills.
