Help The North Warehouse staff who lost their jobs

About 6 hours ago, it was announced that Portland's biggest and most beloved EDM venue, The North Warehouse, was shut down by the Portland fire marshal. This venue holds such a special place in the hearts of every member of the Portland EDM community, and losing this space that represents us, the music we love, and the PLUR culture we celebrate would be such a blow to our scene.

Dozens of staff members like security guards, photographers, and bartenders have now lost their jobs in the middle of the holiday season.** YOU CAN HELP!!

It is not clear as of right now if or when the venue will be able to re-open. The main challenge the venue is facing is a change in their zoning permits, and working with the Portland Fire Marshal to make sure the venue is a safe space for everyone.

*For transparency, I am NOT currently affiliated with The North Warehouse in any official capacity. I'm a DJ myself, I haven't performed at The North Warehouse, but I've been to multiple shows there. The friends and connections I've made at these shows essentially started my whole career doing this. I wouldn't be doing what I'm doing today if The North Warehouse didn't exist, and that's why I'm making this fundraiser.

**Originally, this fundraiser was made to go directly towards funding the renovations needed to comply with safety codes, and help the venue reopen. I’ve since spoken with the owner of TNW and he told me that funding is not really a problem for them, and that his wish is for this money to be donated to the fundraiser being organized by @insightpresents on Instagram, that will help staff members who lost their jobs while we wait to find out if our beloved venue will be able to reopen. So, that is what I will be doing. I’ve been in contact with the folks at insight, and will be donating the money there.
