Help The Nightingale and The Lark buy instruments
Donation protected
The Nightingale and The Lark is a medieval folk duo based in the North East of England. Better known as Siarlot and Cerys, we met thanks to our interest in Living History. We started The Nightingale and The Lark to bring the sounds of the High Middle Ages to the twenty-first century.
We love our period, but 12th-century appropriate string instruments tend to start at around £800 and only go up from there. This is totally understandable, as they are handmade by artisans, but it does mean that as a student and a heritage sector worker respectively, we don't have the disposal income at hand to buy them outright.
We're looking for a little bit of financial support to help us buy a harp and a symphonie (an early form of a hurdy gurdy), as we don't own either the drum or the harp that feature on our EP, and the 'symphonie' is actually an electronic keyboard!
Every little helps is hugely appreciated, and would really help us to deepen our sound, and give a more authentic performance.
