As some of you may know, the last few months have been a challenge for the Nienaber family, and the fight isn’t over! We have created this account to allow the community to rally around this sweet family and help lift them during this extremely challenging time in their life!
In early May, Bre, Austin, and River were excited to discover they were expecting an addition to their family. Their excitement soon turned to worry, as 28-year-old Bre, was diagnosed with Stage 2 Colon Cancer. This discovery came during their first pregnancy ultrasound and clearly warranted further testing. Referrals were quickly made to OB/GYN and Oncology specialists who are located far from their home.
In July, Bre underwent a biopsy of the tumor. Sadly, just three days later, sweet little Marlie Jo was born sleeping at 17 weeks gestation. Suffering the loss of a child was excruciatingly painful in itself, but facing the uphill battle against cancer adds another entire level of hardships.
Not only have Bre and Austin both missed a significant amount of work due to an unexpected hospital stay, but they were also not able to take time off work to properly grieve the loss of their sweet baby girl. As Bre and Austin take additional time off work without pay to attend further specialty appointments, surgery, recovery, etc. they are experiencing, and will experience, further financial hardships.
Please join us to support Bre and Austin as they continue to work through the mental, medical, emotional, and financial hardships they are facing all while keeping up with their busy 4-year-old's schedule and their title of "mom" and "dad"!
For those who would like to help the family but want an alternative option, Bre does have a Venmo account, which is “Bre-Nienaber” & mailing(s) can be sent to 560 E. County Road 950 N., Westport, IN 47283.
Thank you ALL for your support!
